Who We Are
The NCO Ngwa Cultural Organization (NCO) is a nonprofit organization established in New York to unite the Ngwa community while preserving and promoting the customs, traditions, language, and cultural heritage of the Ngwa people.
We recognize that as communities grow across the world, there is an increasing responsibility to ensure that our traditions, stories, language, and values are not lost. Our organization serves as a bridge between generations—connecting elders who carry our history with young people who will shape our future.
Our work extends beyond cultural preservation. We are committed to supporting the welfare and development of Ngwa people both in New York and in Abia State through educational initiatives, community outreach, humanitarian projects, leadership development, and strategic partnerships.
We also believe culture creates understanding. Through festivals, exhibitions, educational programs, and collaborations with other organizations, we promote intercultural dialogue and celebrate the diversity that enriches our communities.
At NCO, every member is a custodian of our heritage and an ambassador of our shared values.
Our Story
Founded by members of the Ngwa community in New York, NCO was created from a shared vision—to support our members, ensure that future generations remain connected to their cultural roots while creating opportunities for service, leadership, and community development.
As our community continues to grow across the diaspora, we remain committed to preserving our identity, strengthening our bonds, and making meaningful contributions to society.
